The wives of two MLB players, Royals second baseman Chris Getz and Rays outfielder David DeJesus, are contestants on the new season of "The Amazing Race" on CBS, according to an MLB.com report.

Nicky Getz and Kim DeJesus disappeared for more than a month this summer, traveling 35,000 miles around the world, to make the reality show. They were competing with 10 other teams for a $1M prize.

Ichiro Suzuki joined Pete Rose and Ty Cobb as the only players with 4,000 career hits in the highest levels of professional baseball. Ichiro's accomplishment comes with a little bit of a twist because his are the combined total between Japan and Major League Baseball.

On Wednesday, Ichiro's 4,000th hit occurred when he singled to left off Blue Jays' starter R.A. Dickey in the first inning.
